Women in Business UW-Madison is proud to announce we were selected as the Grand Prize winners of Zipcar’s Students with Drive competition! WIB was selected out of hundreds of applicants as finalists and was prompted to create a video demonstrating how using Zipcars helps our organization achieve our goals. Our video was then chosen out of the ten finalists as the First Place winners! We competed against many strong organizations from top tier universities around the country and are proud to say we took the top prize. We were awarded a $5,000 donation to our organization, a $5,000 scholarship, and a $2,000 Zipcar gift card! Check out our winning video on the right!

When our semester was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Women in Business knew we needed to do something to help those in need. As a member of the greater Madison community, we wanted to help an organization we knew would be making a difference for people close to our home. We decided to launch a donation drive in honor of No Kid Hungry, a charitable organization currently working to ensure kids going without school lunches still have access to meals. Fifteen Madison Metropolitan School District schools participate in a free or reduced meal program, so we knew by supporting this organization we would help make a direct impact in our community. In the end, we were able to raise $354 to donate to No Kid Hungry!

Sixteen WIB women just returned from a fantastic professional development trip to Atlanta, Georgia! The ladies were able to tour and learn from four amazing companies, The Home Depot, Georgia Pacific, Chick-fil-A, and Inspire Brands while in the city. This was an amazing opportunity to learn from UW alumni at these companies and expand our knowledge of the Atlanta market!
The trip participants prepared a newsletter to show others about our experience and thank the generous sponsors who helped fund our expenses. Click here to download and read it!
